A little about me

I am a songwriter/producer working to record and distribute my music.  I have been writing songs since I was about 17 years old, but have actually recorded only a small amount of them so I am currently working on getting some of my favorite "oldies" recorded as well as any new songs that I come up with.  I have been playing guitar since I was 16 and have had very few formal lessons so I spend much of my songwriting time fumbling through ideas and trying to figure out what the hell to do next.  :)  Sometimes I land on a happy mistake and sometimes I hit a brick wall, but that's songwriting. I believe the lyrics and story being told are the most important aspect of any song and my motto is, "Say something worth hearing".  If you want to know where my inspiration came from for any of my songs, you can go to my "Lyrics" page and read about the story behind each song.

All guitars, lead vocals and synths are recorded at my home studio in Portland, Oregon.  Drum, bass, some harmony vocal tracks, mixing and mastering are outsourced to some very talented musicians and engineers via the wonderful internet.  Without their contributions, my songs would never get past the demo stage and producing a complete album would be cost prohibitive for me so I am extremely grateful.

I have a small amount of film score, sound design and sfx experience and really enjoy the challenge of putting music to film.  A well-written movie is usually a great source of inspiration for songwriting I've found.

Due to working a full-time job as a UPS driver and a busy personal life, I don't play in a band or tour so any hope of recouping any of the thousands of dollars I've spent on getting my music out to the world comes from internet sales.  If you like my music and want to hear more, please help support me by purchasing the songs or albums you like and share links to my music and/or site on social media.  The big label stars of the music industry can afford some piracy and still earn millions of dollars from sales and world tours, but the unsigned "little guys", like me rely on the small amount of sales we get so we can continue to produce music at a professional level.  Please tell your friends, family and the neighbor's pet goat about my music, but PLEASE do not give my music away and/or make it available for piracy.

Thank you so much for visiting my site and for taking an interest in my music.
